Summary

A series of eight linear mounds are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) on the steep south facing slope to the west of Whey Park Farm. They range in length from 9m to 32m and all run along the contour. They are of uncertain date and function but are potentially the sites of pillow mounds although a natural origin cannot be ruled out. The features are sited within an area described as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
