Fragments of a post medieval catch-meadow irrigation system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) to the west of Winson. Five parallel leats are visible and were digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme. The features are sited within an area described as C15th to C18th ‘Barton’ fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
