Summary

A curvilinear cropmark ditch is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948, to the northwest of Snapdown, Satterleigh and Warkleigh. It is interpreted as a possible post-medieval field boundary, or represents the southern part of an enclosure of potential prehistoric date.

A curvilinear feature roughly 200m long is visible as a single ditch on aerial photographs (p1). Although it is sited within an area described as ‘Post-medieval enclosures' in Devon’s Historic Landscape Characterisation, and may be a field boundary of post-medieval date, it is possible that it is the remains of a large curvilinear enclosure, of an earlier origin. The feature has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
