Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
The earthworks correspond to an oval shaped feature shown in this location.

A large (30m x 22m) oval hollow feature is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (p1). It is marked though not annotated on OS 1st Edition 1:2500 mapping. The feature is likely to be the remains of a quarry; it has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
