The extractive pit corresponds with earthworks shown on this map.

A small (16m x 5m) oval hollow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (p1). It is marked as a hollow, but not annotated, on OS 2nd Edition 1:2500 mapping. This feature is likely to be the remains of a small quarry. It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
