A linear feature comprising a single ditch with a right-angled bend is visible on aerial photos (p1). It appears to form a large enclosure with field boundaries marked on the 1880 OS 1st Edition 1:2500 mapping. It is sited within an area described as ‘Barton’ fields for Devon’s Historic Landscape Characterisation and is likely to be of C15th- C18th origin. It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
