Cropmarks of a circular pit with outer bank are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, at Burrowplot Cross, Coldridge. The cropmarks are interpreted as the remains of a possible post-medieval to 19th century extractive pit.

A large hollow feature, 25m across, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1) to the south of Burrowplot Cross. The feature is of uncertain date and function but is considered likely to be a quarry of post medieval origin. It was digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme.
