Parallel cultivation marks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) to the south of Kitchadon . They lie in an area of Medieval enclosures based on strip fields according to the Devon’s Historic Landscape Characterisation (Webcode 26) and are likely therefore to be ridge and furrow of medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme. The features are sited within an area described as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
