Summary

Two curvilinear cropmark banks which define the east and west sides of a possible prehistoric enclosure are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, to the north of Kitchadon Cottage, Eggesford.

Transcriptions of two banks correspond to the grid reference for PRN166712.

Two curved sections of bank are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1) immediately to the south of Barlinch Plantation. They may form parts of the southern half of a large curvilinear enclosure. If these features do indeed form part of an enclosure, it would have been at least 120m across and the northern half lies in the plantation to the north. The site was digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme.
