Full description
Fox, A., 1952, Roman objects from Cadbury Castle, 111-2 (Article in Serial). SDV340586.
Cadbury Castle. Find Numbers 18-19: portions of segmented beads of translucent greeny-blue glass. Find Numbers 20-22: segments of similar beads, of pale china blue glass; the fragments are not identical in colour. Segmented beads not common in Britain. Find Numbers 23-24: cylindrical beads of dark blue glass. Similar beads occasionally found on Roman sites, but not in dated contexts. Find Number 25: melon bead of deep blue turquoise glass paste. Common Roman type, of 1st and 2nd centuries. Find Number 26: disc bead of Kimmeridge shale, with double horizontal perforation; on the top is the mark of the pin by which it was held on the lathe. Find Number 27: annular beads, of dark greenish-blue glass. A tiny flaw beside the perforation. Other details: Figure 3.
