Staverton Churchyard SX794639
A large socket stone stands in the churchyard against the hedge near the south gate. A large square granite socket stone, with small corner shoulders, it has been hollowed out to form a roughly circular trough, there is a drainage hole on the side against the hedge.
Socket stone 1.04 by 1.04 metres by 0.53 metres high. Inside 0.81 or 0.83 metres in diameter by 0.25 metres deep (roughly circular). Drainage hole 5.08 centimetres in diameter 25.4 centimetres from the top.
