A lime kiln was recorded at this location on the circa 1840 Tithe map as part of TA 1509, 'Quay, Courtlage[sic], Houses and waste' as part of the Buckland Barton estate, owned by the Sir Thomas Trayton Drake and occupied by John Croft. Shown again on the circa 1880 Ordnace Survey map.
