Summary
Small farm recorded on the 1843 Tithe Map. The dwelling was parallel to the road (Island House), while a possible barn stood to the north-west, end-on to the street (now Albert House). Probably dates from the 17th century and may have been a Glebe farm. By the early-mid 19th century, Albert House was constructed and the site no longer seems to be a working farm.

SX69676027 Baker’s Tenement recorded on the 1843 Tithe Map. Plot 3033: ‘Baker’s Tenement. Dwelling house, other buildings, front garden and yard’. Owner and occupier the Reverend George Baker. Probable 17th century date. Within the Glebe, it is possible that this was a Glebe farm. By the early-mid 19th century, change was occurring and one of the ‘other buildings’ had been converted into a dwelling (Albert House). The former farmhouse served as the vicarage for a time in the late 18th century.
