A Post Medieval water meadow, known locally as a Catch Meadow Irrigation System, is visible as earthworks, on aerial photographs. At least four roughly parallel field gutters or drains, measuring up to 400m long, extend along the contour, of a slope to the south of Quartley Farm. Single drains perpendicular to the main system cut through the field gutters at intervals. The system is broken by the road and field boundaries, meaning there are three concentrations of drains centred at SS 9840 2537, SS 9858 2534 and SS 9870 2534.
