New Vitifer Mine operating in the 19th century with stone buildings, shafts and adits. Figure 7 shows the location of the Engine Sahft, the wheelpit, stamping floor and the three buddles. The water wheel was 18 metres in diameter by 1.75 metres and constructed to power ten head of stamps for crushing the ore. The wheelpit was filled in during 1877 but is still visible as a depression and was powered by a leat which passed through the elluvial streamwork and over the openwork via an aquaduct to the wheelpit.

There are several tinworks within the monument and amongst these are an openwork, prospecting gully, shafts, a whim platform, areas of alluvial and eluvial streamworking and a 19th century tin mine known as West Vitifer Mine.
