Swimming pool is visible on Ordnance Survey 1880-90s First Edition mapping.

Mr Taylor of Abbotsham Court is said to have carved out a rectangular rock pool for bathing, presumably the small structure shown on the 1886 ordnance survey map (citing Lauder n.d. 13).
