Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The cropmarks do not correspond with any field boundaries or respect the layout of the historic field system on this map.

Dark cropmarks of levelled ditches are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1984, to the south of Caddaford, Staverton. The fragmented linear and curvilinear ditches, approximately 2m in width, do not obviously respect the historic field patterns on the Parish Tithe map and so are interpreted as ditched features and field boundaries of potential prehistoric or Romano-British date. A concentration of prehistoric cropmark enclosures identified within this area adds some support to this interpretation.
