Goods Shed is marked on the plan of Princetown Station. The goods shed, along with the locomotive shed stood abreast of the passenger building. All three were built of rendered stone and had slate roofs. The goods shed whose short loading platform opened onto the first goods siding facing the main station platform, had two small capacity cranes, one inside on its loading bay and one mounted on the track side just to the eastern end. A goods porter was employed at the station through most of its working history.
Kingdom, A. R., 1991, The Yelverton to Princetown Railway, 35-6, 37-8, 50, 70, 88, 92-93, 98 (Monograph). SDV361466.
The goods shed was situated opposite to the main station building and constructed in a similar manner (brick built and rendered with cement). Large sliding doors opened out onto a stubby, granite-faced platform with a ramp at one end. At the western end stood a small office, the rear of which were the road vehicle access doors which had a small canopy matching the stations. At the eastern end stood a small hand crane mounted on a platform supported by a stone plinth. Many images of the good shed from various dates included.
