Linear earthwork ditches interpreted as former medieval field boundaries are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, at Blackler Barton, Staverton. The two parallel earthworks closely respect the historic field patterns shown on the 1845 Parish Tithe map characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks do not correspond with any field boundaries shown on this map, or on subsequent historic maps made available to the survey, supporting the interpretation that they had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
