A linear earthwork ditch, approximately 10m in width, is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, at Beaston Bridge, Broadhempston. The earthwork broadly respects the historic field pattern depicted on the 1841 Parish Tithe Map and characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields and is interpreted as a medieval or post-medieval field boundary. The possible boundary is not shown on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps, supporting the interpretation that it had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. Some caution should, however, be exercised, and it is also possible the earthwork represents a modern drainage ditch.
