A narrow curvilinear ditch is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1988 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as an earthwork on the southeast facing combe slopes at Bulland Farm, Staverton. The channel roughly follows the contours of the combe and is interpreted as a gutter of a possible catch meadow irrigation system, tapping a water course to the west of the system. Catch meadows were popular in the 19th century but many continued in use into the mid-20th century.
