A series of earthwork ditches interpreted as medieval or post-medieval field boundaries is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the north of Halswell, Broadhempston. The contiguous linear earthworks, circa 15m in width, are north to south and east to west aligned and define several rectilinear shaped land parcels. The earthworks closely respect, and partly correspond with, the field boundaries shown on the 1841 Parish Tithe Map characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields, although most of the field boundaries are not shown on this map and had evidently passed out of use by this time.
