Linear earthwork ditches, circa 15m in width, are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the east of Lake Farm, Broadhempston. The cropmarks closely respect the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the 1841 Parish Tithe Map and characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields, although do not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as possible relict medieval field boundaries which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
