A cropmark of an oval mound circa 17 by 15m in size is visible on aerial photographs of 1999 in Mamhead Park, north-east of Mamhead House, Mamhead. A small clump of coniferous trees is depicted in this location on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map. The mound is therefore interpreted as evidence of a former ornamental parkland feature such as a tree planting mound. This location remained planted, possibly with deciduous trees, into the 1940s. A low mound remains visible as an earthwork on digital images visualised from photogrammetrically derived elevation data captured in 2017.
