A curvilinear earthwork bank, circa 4.5m in width, is visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2011 and lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the east of Hawkes, Woodland. The northeast to southwest aligned earthwork closely respect the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the 1840 Parish Tithe Map and characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields, although it does not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. It is therefore interpreted as a possible relict medieval strip field boundary which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
