A sub-circular earthwork pit, circa 20m in diameter, with outer bank to the north and south, circa 18m wide, and interpreted as a possible post-medieval or 19th century extractive pit is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the west of Halsworthy, Staverton. The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features on the available 19th century mapping, although they appear to have been bisected by a trackway first shown on the Parish Tithe Map. This supports the interpretation that the extractive pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
