Sand Pits are first visible on the Ordnance Survey 1880s-90s First Edition map.
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
Sand Pits are still visible on the Ordnance Survey 1904-06 Second Edition mapping, however they have now expanded and cover a slightly larger area.
Ordnance Survey, 1953-1969, 1953-1969 National Grid OS A edition imperial (Cartographic). SDV352727.
Sand Pits are no longer apparent or marked on the 1953-69 National Grid Ordnance Survey Metric map.
