IE A HOMESTEAD MOAT, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV44381.

Bickleigh court. The moat which surrounded the medieval house has been traced, revealing a hitherto unrecorded earthwork, of a type calssified by the victoria county history as class 'f' (ie a homestead moat), rare in devon (raleigh radford). A proportion of the old moat survives in front of the gatehouse (hoskins).15th century? surrounding wall enclosure (higham). Vis=3/8/1967(os) an ornamental moat has been built along the e. Side of the court in recent times, but there are no traces of an original feature.
