Numerous parallel curvilinear ditches, under a metre wide, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1950 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. They are aligned approximately along the contour, dropping only a few metres over the visible length of 120 metres, although some appear to rise at both ends. They are tentatively interpreted as the remains of a former catchmeadow gutters of post-medieval or 19th century origin, taken off the drainage ditches along the adjacent field boundaries. The complex is downslope from Buddleford Farm and may have operated as an integrated system. It is not depicted on the available historic mapping and probably went out of use by the late-19th century.
