Numerous parallel curvilinear ditches, each less than a metre wide, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. They are aligned approximately along the contour, dropping only a few metres over visible lengths of up to 230 metres, although some appear to rise at both ends. They are interpreted as the remains of a former catchmeadow gutters of post-medieval or 19th century origin, taken off the drainage ditches along the adjacent field boundaries. The system is partly depicted on the available historic mapping and was probably in use during the late-19th century.
