A linear cropmark of a levelled bank, circa 2m in width, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1969, to the east of Ambrook Cottages, Ipplepen. The northeast to southwest aligned cropmark closely respects the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the 1842 Ipplepen Parish Tithe Map which is post-medieval in character. The cropmark does not, however correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps and is therefore interpreted as a relict medieval or post-medieval field boundary which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
