Linear earthwork ditches are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, at Wrigwell Farm, Ipplepen. The contiguous linear earthworks are north to south and earth to west aligned and define three rectilinear shaped enclosures, circa 15m in width by 55m in length. The earthworks closely respect the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the 1842 Ipplepen Parish Tithe Map which are characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. They do not, however, correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps and are therefore interpreted as relict medieval or post-medieval field boundaries which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery.
