A roughly north-east to south-west aligned bank is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork and cropmark on the north-facing slopes to the west of Babels Bridge, Kenton. It is interpreted as a former field boundary, possibly of medieval date.

Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Kenton, but is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern.

A linear bank is visible as a cropmark and earthwork.

A bank is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork and cropmark circa 5m wide and 88m long, aligned roughly north-east to south-west across the north-facing slopes to the west of Babels Bridge, Kenton. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but is in keeping with the character of the depicted field pattern, characterised as medieval by being of medieval origin. The visible earthwork is interpreted as a former field boundary, possibly of medieval date.
