Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

A pale, linear cropmark of a levelled bank, circa 7m in width, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1950, to the west of Simpson Farm, Denbury and Torbryan. The northeast to southwest aligned cropmark is in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The cropmark does not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. It is therefore interpreted as a relict medieval field boundary which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
