Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Linear earthwork banks, one of which is flanked by a ditch, between 4m and 12m in width, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1986 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the west of Poole Cross, Denbury and Torbryan. The east to west aligned earthworks are in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. They are therefore interpreted as relict medieval field boundaries which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
