Curvilinear ditches and a bank are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on northwest facing slope at Normans Farm, Ipplepen. The two ditches measure circa 2m in width, with the northernmost ditch flanked by a bank, circa 5m in width. The earthworks broadly follow the contours of the combe and are interpreted as the gutters of a possible catch meadow irrigation system associated with Normans Farm to the east. Catch meadows were popular in the 19th century but many continued in use into the mid-20th century. The ditches are not visible on earlier available aerial imagery.
