Earthwork remains of a 500 metre-long, 20th-century target railway to the north of Holming Beam, associated with Merrivale small arms training area.

In 2010, Archaeological Contractor Simon Probert reported the earthwork remains of a former 20th century target railway now used as a track are situated at SX5913 7708, in the Civil Parish of Dartmoor Forest, West Devon. It may date from 1939 onwards. The remains were said to be in fair condition at time of reporting (citing oral information, correspondence (not archived) or staff comments).
