Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Earthwork banks, circa 6m in width, are visible on oblique aerial photographs taken in 1986 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the north of Torcourt, Denbury and Torbryan. The parallel and linear earthworks are typically northeast to southwest aligned and define a number of rectilinear shaped land parcels. They are in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is characterised as post-medieval enclosures, although do not correspond with any linear features shown on this map, or on later available historic maps. They are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of post-medieval date which had completely passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
