Two shallow pits are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s, as earthworks within cleared plantations on Haldon Ridge. The pits are roughly circular and measure roughly 30 and 36 metres in diameter respectively. The pits may be modern in date, possibly associated with training activity of Second World War date. The earthworks have probably been levelled by repeated plantation planting.
