Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

An earthwork hollow circa 1100 metres long and 8 to 20 metres wide is visible crossing Great Haldon hill, from the head of Deadman’s Combe to Oxencombe Brook, on aerial photographs of the 1940s and images derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey, and is interpreted as a pre-enclosure trackway, potentially of medieval to 19th century date.
