Linear earthwork banks, circa 5m in width and northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned, are visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on a hilltop to the southwest of Halwell Farm, Denbury and Torbryan. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the Parish Tithe Map of the mid-19th century, although one of the field boundaries shown on this map which is post-medieval in character does truncate one of the earthworks. They are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of potential medieval date which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. Their proximity to extensive remains of prehistoric or Romano-British field systems recorded circa 220m to the south may, however, also suggest an earlier origin.
