Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Three oval shaped mounds, between 7-15m in length, associated with prehistoric or Romano-British field system MDV19187 are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on a limestone plateau, to the south of Dornafield Farm, Ipplepen. The mounds are located at SX83936815; SX83986814 and SX84006811. A fourth mound at SX83986817 is shown on the Ordnance Survey 2018 MasterMap, although is not visible on the available aerial imagery. Their form, character and setting within the field system supports the interpretation that they represent clearance cairns of possible prehistoric or Romano-British date. The northern-most earthwork likely corresponds with the record of a hut circle (MDV8643) in this location, which is possibly a mis-interpretation given its similarity with other clearance cairns recorded in the vicinity.
