Three irregularly shaped pits, between 45-95m in length, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the southwest of Abbotshill, Abbotskerswell. They are interpreted as former quarries for possible limestone extraction of post-medieval or early 19th century date which correspond with pit features depicted in this location on the Parish Tithe Map of the mid-19th century, supporting the interpretation that they had passed out of use by this time. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to tree cover in these locations.
