A linear hollow over 20m wide and 140m long is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as an earthwork on the south-east facing slopes to the south of Woodlands, Chudleigh. The visible earthwork corresponds with a regular field boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Chudleigh, but not the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map, supporting the interpretation that the boundary was probably of post-medieval origin and was removed between circa 1840 and 1880.
