A series of linear and curvilinear earthwork banks and a ditch, between 3-10m in width, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, to the northeast of Stubbins Cross, Ogwell. The earthworks occupy an area of approximately 20 hectares of varying slope, are typically northeast to southwest and northwest to southeast aligned and define a number of rectilinear shaped enclosures between 30-210m in length. Most of the earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although do respect the surrounding historic field patterns shown on this map which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields and as post-medieval park and garden. Their form and character support the interpretation that they represent relict field boundaries of a possible medieval field system which had almost completely passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
