Full description

Possible mounds were visible as earthworks.

Three mounds are visible as earthworks in a north-west to south-east linear alignment on aerial photographs of 1946 on the south-west facing slopes west of Thorns Cross Farm, Chudleigh. The mounds are roughly circular and measure approximately 4m to 5m in diameter, although vegetation makes confident interpretation difficult. The earthworks may be cairns of later prehistoric date, possibly the same as or associated with those recorded as MDV9280.The earthworks were not identified on more recent images available to the survey.
