Narrow sinuous ditches, less than 2m wide, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1986, on the combe slopes to the south of Higher Herebere, Bickington. The channels roughly follow the contours of the combe either side of Kester Brook and occupy an area of circa 3.5 hectares. They are interpreted as the gutters of a catch meadow irrigation system of likely 19th century date.
