Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Linear and curvilinear earthwork banks, circa 5m wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1984 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on a limestone plateau on Emblett Hill, Ogwell. The banks are broadly north to south and east to west aligned and occupy an area of circa 1 hectare. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is shown as unenclosed land, or on subsequent available historic maps. Their form, character and similarity to earthworks recorded to the immediate southeast (MDV19206) support the interpretation the earthworks represent relict field boundaries of potential prehistoric or Romano-British date. Located amongst the banks are a number of small sub-circular mounds interpreted as possible clearance cairns which have been recorded as a separate, but associated monument (MDV123184).
