Linear earthwork ditches, circa 10m wide, and a bank, circa 14m wide, are visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2011 and from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, at Higher Herebere, Bickington. The northeast to southwest aligned earthworks are in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields, although they do not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps. They are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of potential medieval date which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
