Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

A sub--oval shaped pit, circa 16m long by 13m wide, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, at Bearah, Ogwell. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, although does coincide with an area of vegetation or waste ground on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit which had likely passed out of use by the mid to late 19th century. The earthwork is not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover in this location.
